After defeating Engadine 2 weeks ago, the U/15’s progressed to a Central venue day on 26 March 19. The girl's had a great day and played so well individually and as a team. They were narrowly defeated in an evenly matched game against SSC Leichardt, going down 14-12. They then came up against Matraville Sports High and put up a great fight against some amazing netball players, coming off second best with a score of 20-12.
Down but not out, they were determined to get a win and convincingly beat Woolooware High 33-4 and waited anxiously to see if they had made the play offs. It came back to their first game against SSC which made the difference and although it was disappointing to miss out on the making the semi-finals series by two goals, the girls should be proud of their achievements in this competition.
While the semi-finals were being played we were given the chance to play a friendly match against Canterbury, the girls had a great game playing out of position with Darcy and Jess inventing a new goal circle defensive strategy! Even with our defenders shooting, we managed to have a fun game and also end on a high with another win, this time 9-6.
Overall a great day, thanks and congratulations to all players and helpers and again to Marina for umpiring.
