Message from our careers advisor
At Caringbah High School we take a holistic approach to career education and development as we work towards the goal of seeing our students pursue future pathways in industries that are both personally meaningful and professionally fulfilling.
We focus on career-life as a whole, educating students on how to effectively manage their careers well beyond high school. Our extensive career program covers everything from financial literacy, résumé writing and interview techniques; to general work-life balance, well-being and proactive behaviours such as ongoing exploration, curiosity and resilience.
Our career adviser sources the most up to date and relevant information for students to make informed decisions about their futures. Our career program begins in Year 7 with goal setting and decision making and carries through into Year 12 with university applications, UMAT and personal branding.
We collaborate with our extended school community to connect students with mock interviews, work experience, business breakfasts and career exploration sessions and expos. Our aim is to provide experiential opportunities for students to explore their interests, uncover their strengths and pursue their goals.
Your careers adviser is Miss Kate Poppett and her office is located on the top floor of N Block. Miss Poppett's role is to provide guidance, information and career exploration opportunities for students throughout their high school years. Students, teachers and parents are always welcome.
