Our year 10/12 Accelerated Investigating Science students have been busy putting popular product claims and pseudoscience to the test! Using real data and scientific thinking, they’re asking: Is the claim backed by evidence—or just clever marketing?
So far, they’ve investigated:
Coles Choc Chip Cookies and their "40% chocolate" claim
Quick-Eze and its ability to neutralise stomach acid
pH-balancing claims in skincare products
And even whether crystals really have a calming effect
Science in action—and critical thinking at its best!
