This week junior science classes engaged in a range of activities to celebrate National Science Week. The theme this year is "Species Survival". Students learned about citizen science and helped to identify animals captured on motion-activated cameras, to train computers to analyse the data for conservation and environmental monitoring projects. We also learned about the Victorian Grassland Earless Dragon, which was previously thought to be extinct, but was recently discovered alive and well! To top things off there was some trivia, and an escape room, that involved finding "turtle" eggs, testing water quality, decoding DNA and much more.
