On Friday, 12 March as part of Caringbah High tradition, we participated in the World’s Greatest Shave fundraiser. Students get the opportunity to shave or cut their hair for bids and sponsors in front of our student body. Alternatively you could even use hairspray to colour your hair.
At lunchtime many students gathered in the Cola, music was playing and spectacular commentary was made as several students got a new hairdo. Every year, 17,321 Australians will be newly diagnosed with blood cancer. This fundraiser helps raise awareness for families that are affected by blood cancer and all donations go towards researching and developing treatments for those living with blood cancer.
At the end of the day, altogether we raised a total of around $10 000.
Special thanks to Oliver T who organised the event and congratulations to those who bravely got their hair shaved off or cut. They have shown incredible initiative and support for the cause!
