Year 9 Science Incursion

On September 22nd, year 9 Science classes enjoyed an incursion to develop their problem solving, observation and inference skills. We were visited by Education Interactive, who set up a mock crime scene with forensic evidence for CHS students to solve. Students were able to examine several pieces of forensic evidence as well as take their own fingerprints, measure the tracks made by shoes, and compare DNA profiles to determine who committed the crime (it was Paul!). This was an engaging way to see some of the applications of Science to solve problems in real life and hopefully encouraged CHS students to see the value of Science based careers.
