Year 8, 9 and 12 Music Recital

The year 8, 9 and 12 Music Recital Night on 9 April was a great success! The night took place in the Music Centre and showcased the talent and enthusiasm of many musical students fostered by their teachers and tutors.

The night began with performances from the year 8 students, showcasing the music of Mozart, Pachelbel and more, a vocal group performance by Lily and her year 8 friends accompanied by Mrs Tait, as well as an original Blues composition composed by Lily-Anne in year 8.

Then we heard performances from the year 9 students – the beauty and technical clarity of the piano played by Jonathan and Antonius, the magnificent tones of the trumpet played by James, and the dulcet tones of Emma’s vocals and Julie’s violin.

Then the year 12 students showed us the amazing work they’ve been doing in class with a whole class performance of ‘Rainlessness’ by Howell, arranged for 2 pianos, flute and clarinet, and accompanied by their teacher Ms Klara Morrison on the violin. The night then ended with four magnificent solo performances by Lachlan (piano), Liam (piano), Emma (voice) and Josephine (flute), whose musical and technical prowess stunned audiences.

A big thank you goes to Mrs Lyndal Tait and Ms Klara Morrison for organising the event, and to Mr David Allen for his assistance as piano accompanist on the night. It couldn’t happen without you.

We look forward to our next concert - the Year 7 Music Recital on Monday 6 May (week 2, term 2) commencing at 6pm.
