Les Gordon History Debating Competition

Wednesday 6 June, our team debated against SCEGGS Darlinghurst in the first round of the Les Gordon History Debating Competition.

Our Caringbah team argued the affirmative for the topic ‘Australia Needs the ANZAC Legend’. It was a tough and close competition against a formidable team. 

Congratulations to our team; Connor, Mei-Mei, Rowan and Charlie (all of Year 10) for their success in this debate. We thank Kevin for his contribution as chairperson and timekeeper.

The team worked closely together to prepare and present their arguments in front on year 10 History Orange, who were both entertained and informed.  Both teams showcased excellent public speaking and debating techniques, the adjudicator commended our team for our form and structure and giving us the victory.    

We thank Mrs Volas for her support.  We are excited for round 2 against Georges River College Penshurst Girls Campus.
