Caringbah High Athletics Carnival

On Monday 4 June, Caringbah High held its 59th annual Athletics Carnival at Sylvania Athletic track. A high number of competitors took to the track in events such as the 100 and 200m, the 400, 800 and 1500m middle distance runs. On the field students participated in long, high and triple jump. While others also competed in javelin, discus and shot put. Whilst a strong head wind made it challenging for our athletes in the running events, two students broke records on the day.

Phillip of year 12 broke the Open boys 100m record (which was held, for 21 years) setting it at a time of 11.24sec.  Phillip also broke the 200m record with a new time of 22.69sec.

Oli of year 11 who broke the Under 17’s 400m record in a time of 51.59sec. Oli also broke the 800m record with a new time of 1.59.63min.  He also smashed the 1500m record by 12 seconds with a new time of 4.03.45sec.

Emma of year 10 who broke the 15 years Shot Put record with a new distance of 10.64m.

Big congratulations must also go to our Age Champions for 2018.
